♦ DIAMONDS: Covered with an exceptional array of 14_plus natural wooden diamonds, with all sorts of wonderful twisting curves and a variety of tan, caramel, dark brown and reddish brown colors.
♦ SPALTED RAILING: Has highly coveted, unique and rare semi_railing effect, where the diamonds become one with the wood and twist and turn the wood due to spalding/spalting.
♦ Some "diamonds" even stick out like an ear, where you could pinch both sides, and maybe lace or pierce something through them.
♦ INSECT MARKINGS: Has a few insect and/or worm hole markings on this stick.

This walking staff is a OOAK (one of a kind) item made from native northern Minnesota diamond willow tree, and handcrafted by Tim P., a local, experienced artisan.
♦ Sustainably harvested in northern MN.
♦ Main bark removed by hand.
♦ Dried/cured naturally by air for a minimum of several months, though often much longer
♦ Meticulously and lovingly sanded to reveal nature's beauty

♦ As a GENERAL rule, hiking sticks should be about shoulder height...give or take a few inches.
♦ For FLAT terrain, or rolling hills and groomed trails, a walking staff should be about 4-6" above the elbow, or a few inches below the shoulder.
♦ For HILLY terrain, a stick that's shoulder height or even a few inches above the shoulder is often preferred to help when descending.
♦ Preferences vary, sooo.....
♦ If you've never had a walking stick, try practicing on a broom stick (while wearing 👞🥿walking shoes) to see what height stick feels comfortable first AND where your preferred 🖐handgrip location would be.

✨ WE CAN SHORTEN, at no charge. We'll happily cut it down for you. Just let us know the length you want. Measure twice and we'll cut once (then sand and coat with clear poly).

ABOUT MAX WEIGHT: 300 lbs.

♦ This could maybe hold more weight, but I'm just guessing at wt. limit. I'm "only" ~200 lbs. and test each stick just by trying to bend it to make sure it's sturdy.
♦ THIS STICK does bend just a little if I push really hard on this, so it's not meant to be a crutch you lean on all the time. And no pole vaulting! ;) That way it will work great as a hiking aid for many years!

Since this is wood, and we're not a factory, I make no guarantees about the future condition of this walking stick, but CAN GUARANTEE it was strong without any large cracks when WE harvested, cured, coated, listed, and packed it for shipping after it sells, inspecting it at each step along the way.

PLEASE INSPECT ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT before each use to make sure no cracks or weaknesses have developed, since wood does change over time.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

♦ Bring it inside when you're not using it, and maybe wipe dirt or water off of it with a dry cloth or damp cloth if needed....when you can.
♦ Being left outside for a little while every now and then is no big deal. I've had the same stick I use daily for many years, and I leave it out sometimes--just not too often.
♦ These are made for the outdoors, but the clear poly is not UV tolerant like marine epoxy.
♦ Should not be left in the sun or extreme heat or cold for days and weeks on end. Otherwise, the same thing will happen to your lovely walking stick that happens to wood furniture left outside in all sorts of weather.
♦ Just bring it indoors when not in use, and the 5 coats of poly I've put on will help protect your walking stick and help you keep it nice looking and useful for many years.

WRIST STRAP

♦ Strong, braided wrist straps are made of 550 paracord or soft genuine leather suede.
♦ Suede is real leather, and is a THINNER strap, just 2/8'' - 3/8'' wide, and the 550 Paracord lanyard is THICKER at approx. 3/4''-7/8'' wide.
♦ Strap is made of 8-10 ft of cord, suede or jute and is approx. 13 in. when open, and 6 in. when closed, with extra long tassels you can cut yourself after you adjust to fit. Some people add charms or beads to the tassels, or just leave them plain.

🐞 PLEASE MESSAGE ME ASAP after purchase to tell me WHERE you want me to drill the hole and attach the wrist strap.

I'll put it where I think seems best, depending on the diamonds and stick width, and assuming the end user's shoulder height matches the height of the stick that's purchased.

💠 BENEFITS OF A WRIST STRAP
♦ Ensures you don't drop your cane or hiking staff if you lose your grip

♦ You could cut or untie the strap (but not too easily) and use it for many camping/survival uses (too many uses to list here). Paracord has 7 innner strands.

💠 HOW IT'S BRAIDED
♦ I braid the paracord lanyard myself with a loose sinnet cobra knot made of 4 strands of cord (4 strands in tassel). Ends are slightly burned after cutting to seal them, so inner strands of paracord don't ride up, or so poly doesn't unravel.
♦ Wife braids the soft, strong, brown suede leather with a simple braid of three strands (6 strands in tassel).

💠 HOW WRIST STRAP ADDED
♦ Hole drilled, sanded and then coated with clear poly
♦ Lanyard threaded through hole and tied loosely (so you can easily untie and adjust it before you tighten the knots for good).

💠 The cord hand grip is made of about 15 ft. of 550 paracord or braided rope that can be removed if needed for emergency survival uses__although it might be a little stiff at first since I coated it with wood hardener. It will become more pliable the more you handle, bend and use it, though.

♦ wrapped grip is then given several coats of wood hardener on top of the paracord until it's soaked and coated good
♦ yes, you can untie the paracord and use it--it will just be a little stiff at first
