This homemade walking cane is BEST FOR LEFT HANDED FOLKS. It's extra sturdy and unique, with a patriotic theme, inlaid with a carnival token that says "Freedom" and has an eagle over a flag shield and wheat stalks.

💠 INLAID: The following 6 inlays have been artfully embedded into a carved indent, secured with epoxy, to give this already amazing piece for a little extra flair:
1. COLLECTIBLE FREEDOM COIN held in with four brass tacks and epoxy glue. I'm not sure what the coin is made of. It's not real money. It's one we got at the county fair in those games where you buy fake money coins and drop them in and hope they push other coins and prizes sitting on top of the coins down to you.
2. Agate geode

💠 COMFY: None of the inlays are in a place where one would rest their palm so they don't compromise your comfort. Top is smooth and comfortable.
💠 FINGER GRIP AND HAND GUIDES: I use a cane daily and can assure you that neither the diamonds nor the stone inlays impede the grip. Rather, they make a great finger grip or hand guide so you always can tell if your hand is in the right place on the handle without looking at it.
💠 FIDGET STONES: Besides being a finger guide, they also gives the thumb something to fondle, like a worry stone or fidget spinner...especially the top stone on this cane. ;)
💠 AMAZING COLORS and spalted rails, all made by nature. No stains or paints added; coated with just clear poly.

♦ LEFT HANDED: Hand grip is comfortable for either left_handed or right_handed people, although right handed folks 'might' be irritated by the stone on the right side, while left handed folks will find that stone on the right comforting, as a finger guide or fidget stone.
♦ DIAMONDS: Unique in how there are so a few diamonds in the handle on the side, where the indents make great finger grips and hand guides.
♦ GIRTH: Hand grip girth is best for a Med-XL hand (determined by what size work or winter glove you wear). (Please see 'Size Guide' below).

♦ STRONG BRACE: Handle has a wood brace, making this extra strong. Brace is secured with pins and screws on both ends (covered with a wood plug sanded flush), to give you extra support, ensuring that the handle can withstand you bearing all your weight down on it.

Curves do make it extra intriguing, but the stick stands straight for the most part (ie, comes back to center and isn't a bow or arc) and works great as a daily mobility aid. (I use one daily__crooked canes work great and have marvelously charming character.)

💠 ALL NATURAL: No stains, paints or colors added--just 4-5 coats of clear poly finish. The natural colors are spectacular, looking so much better in person than I'm able to capture with photos.
💠 DIAMONDS: Covered with an exceptional array of natural wooden diamonds 💎 with all sorts of wonderful twisting curves and a variety of tan, caramel, dark brown and reddish brown colors.
💠 SOME DEEP...This stick has a few particularly deep diamonds (although it's difficult to capture the many curves and forms in the photos). They're beautiful alone, and also perfect for embedding more stones or charms into them, if you'd wish.
💠 SPALTED RAILING: Has a bit of highly coveted, unique and rare 🦄 semi_railing effect, where the diamonds run into each other, become one with the wood and twist and turn the wood due to spalding/spalting.
💠 SOME PROTRUDING...Some "diamonds" even stick out like an ear, where you could pinch both sides and maybe lace or pierce something through them.
💠 INSECT MARKINGS: Has several insect and/or worm hole markings on this stick.
♦ Worm and other insect markings are somewhat rare 🦄 and are actually coveted, as they help create a unique design, character to the stick, and add another dimension to the story of how efficient nature works. 🦗🦟🐛
♦ The worms or insects have long disappeared, usually before I harvest or for sure 💯 during/after I dry my sticks INSIDE OUR HOME 🏡 for several months, then sand and coat with poly.

This walking cane is a OOAK (one of a kind) item made from native northern Minnesota diamond willow tree, and handcrafted by me, a local, experienced artisan.

💠 As a GENERAL rule, walking canes should be about elbow height or 2-4" below...give or take a few inches.
💠 But preferences vary, sooo.....
💠 If you've never had a walking cane, measure while wearing 👞🥿walking shoes, have your arms hang at your side. Note where your elbow is at. Measure from the floor to your elbow, and subtract a couple of inches.

✨ WE CAN SHORTEN, at no charge. We'll happily cut it down for you. Just let us know the length you want. Measure📏 twice and we'll cut once (then sand and coat with clear poly).

💠 This could maybe hold more weight, but I'm just guessing at wt. limit. I'm "only" ~200 lbs. and test each stick just by trying to bend it to make sure it's sturdy.
💠 Most of my walking sticks have a weight limit of 350 lbs. but this is just a tad (1/8") thinner than I'd like.

WRIST STRAP

💠 Strong, braided wrist straps are made of 550 paracord, soft genuine leather suede or braided jute rope.
💠 Suede is a THINNER strap, just 2/8'' - 3/8'' wide, and the 550 Paracord lanyard is THICKER at approx. 3/4''-7/8'' wide.
💠 Strap is made of 8-10 ft of cord, suede or jute and is approx. 13 in. when open, and 6 in. when closed, with extra long tassels you can cut yourself after you adjust to fit.
💠 Some people add charms or beads to the tassels, or just leave them plain.

💠 BENEFITS OF A WRIST STRAP
♦ Ensures you don't drop your cane if you lose your grip
♦ Allows you to let go of your walking stick without dropping it if you need to use your hand for something else
♦ Hang your cane on a coat hook when you get indoors
♦ You could cut or untie the strap (but not too easily) and use it for many camping/survival uses (too many uses to list here). Paracord has 7 innner strands that are very useful, as well.

💠 HOW IT'S BRAIDED
♦ I braid the paracord lanyard myself with a loose sinnet cobra knot made of 4 strands of cord (4 strands in tassel). Ends are slightly burned after cutting to seal them, so inner strands of paracord don't ride up, or so poly doesn't unravel.
♦ Wife braids the soft, strong, brown suede leather with a simple braid of three strands (6 strands in tassel).

💠 HOW WRIST STRAP ADDED
...TO BRACED HANDLED CANES:
♦ O-ring or D-ring added by first drilling and gluing in a metal pin near the corner where brace meets handle (this prevent strap from sliding down the brace, out of reach)
♦ lanyard threaded through hole and tied loosely (so you can easily untie and adjust it before you tighten the knots for good).

♦ hole drilled, sanded and then coated with clear poly

Since this is wood, and we're not a factory, I make no guarantees about the future condition of this walking stick, but CAN GUARANTEE it was strong without any large cracks when I harvested, cured, coated, listed, and packed it for shipping after it sells, inspecting it at each step along the way.

PLEASE INSPECT 🕵️‍♂️🔎 ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT before each use to make sure no cracks or weaknesses have developed, since wood does change over time.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

💠 Bring it inside when you're not using it, and maybe wipe dirt or water off of it with a dry cloth or damp cloth if needed....when you can.
💠 Being left outside for a little while every now and then is no big deal. I've had the same stick I use daily for many years, and I leave it out sometimes--just not too often.
💠 These are made for the outdoors, but the clear poly is not UV tolerant like marine epoxy.
💠 Should not be left in the sun or extreme heat or cold for days and weeks on end. Otherwise, the same thing will happen to your lovely walking stick that happens to wood furniture left outside in all sorts of weather.
💠 Just bring it indoors when not in use, and the 5 coats of poly I've put on will help protect your walking stick and help you keep it nice looking and useful for many years.
