NOTE: 🚨 Pods or drupes are NOT FULLY DRY. Though they're partially dry, they do have lots of natural moisture 💧 since the seeds are clustered close together, so be sure to store in a paper bag or open air container for several months, to prevent molding.🦠🍄
Pure organic smooth sumac, wildcraft harvested near our extremely rural home in northern Minnesota, USA. Ground seeds were dry and stored in a closed container, but whole seeds and seed pods are stored in an open air container indoors since their Dec., 2022 harvest...so THESE ARE NOT DRIED.

This red seed is packed with vitamins and minerals, with a wonderfully zesty lemony flavor.

🌿 SPECIES:
Common name: Smooth sumac
Botanical name: Rhus glabra
I'm no expert, as I only have a 2 yr Horticulture Diploma and a 2 yr Greenhouse Tech Diploma, but I assure you, these are not Staghorn sumac as some other peoples' listings claim. Those have hairy seeds. These SMOOTH sumac do not.

🍃 SEEDS: Seeds have been frozen and then thawed, but have not been scarified, which may be necessary to get them to germinate (sprout) after planting them.
🍃 GROUND SUMAC: Before grinding them, I meticulously pick seeds off the pods and then remove as many little stems as I can. Seeds are ground and then run through a big sieve; what gets through is the AGAIN, and THEN sifted AGAIN through a smaller sieve.
🍃 DRUPES: Number of seeds on each pod varies. These will be carefully packed, but I am sure that a number of seeds will fall off during shipment.
✨ PURE! This is as pure as you can get. No chemicals, no preservatives. 100% organic. There's no cell phone service where we live, if that tells you anything. There are no major water polluters or smokestacks within hundreds of miles. Even if there were, we're just north of the LAURENTIAN Divide, so rivers run north. The nearest small town is 18 mile drive north, and it has one gas station, one bank, and one store (and is 1.5 hr drive to Canadian border). The next biggest town is 36 miles south, below the Laurentian Divide, and the only industry they have is a paper mill. We're just surrounded by miles and miles of trees and beautiful wilderness in what we like to call God's country.
