We've gotten some great bug parties on our site.

The great thing about a bug party is that it's a pretty open-ended theme so there's lots of room for creativity, plus it's got just enough squeamishness to make things interesting.

Here's an assortment of gorgeous ladybug parties from our site.

This theme work great for girl birthdays, 1st birthdays, and even baby showers. Ladybugs are considered good luck in many cultures, which makes these parties extra special. Plus, you can add lots of cute garden elements to your party, like grass, flowers, watering cans, flower pots, etc.

We don't have a lot of mosquitoes here in Northern California (thank God!), but I remember those buggy nights in New Jersey when I was growing up, and how we'd go out to a summer party, and I'd come home with my body covered in bites. So when I found this DIY on making homemade citronella candles on Garden Therapy, I had to share.  What a great idea!

The best part of this tutorial is that it explains how to add additional scents to your candles like eucalyptus, rosemary, peppermint, and oregano -- other smells bugs don't like, that aren't just citronella.
