Apple Pie Pop Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 golden delicious apples, diced
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon salted butter
- 1⁄2 tablespoon flour
- Prepared pie crust (THIS IS THE EASY INGREDIENT, NO NEED TO MAKE HOMEMADE!!!)
- 2 egg whites
Directions:
In a small saucepan melt butter with flour to make a paste. Add in apples, lemon juice, and sugar.
Cook until apples are soft and can be mashed. This will be the pie filling.
Unfold prepared pie dough. Using a 2” circle or scalloped circle cookie cutter, cut out two circles for each pie pop.
Place 1⁄2 to 1 teaspoon of pie filling in cold pie crust circles. Place white stick over filling. Cover with the second pie crust circle.
Use a fork to crimp the edges. I added an additional mini heart to the front of each pop.
Brush pie pops with egg whites. This will help the pops reach a nice golden brown color. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Bitesize deliciousness!
