Norene from Party Pinching puts together some of the most creative dessert tables on our site. Because it's the Year of the Dragon, her most recent Chinese New Year table featured these incredibly creative Rice Krispie Treat dragons.

I'm seeing a new party trend on the horizon so I wanted to be one of the first to write about it: Lalaloopsy parties.

Lalaloopsy is a line of rag dolls introduced in 2010, and has become all the rage with young girls. Even thought the dolls are new, what's fun about these parties is there's a nostalgic feel to them.  

I had to share this paper flower backdrop tutorial created by Ellinée because I think it is so beautiful and original. I love the 3D nature of it. How amazing would this look behind a dessert table!

The tutorial comes with the paper flower garland templates and instructions. You just need to download the templates, cut out the flowers, attach the flowers to baker's twine using an embroidery needle, and tie the twine to a pretty branch.

For those of you who don't know (and I didn't know until these parties starting popping up on our site), Ninjago is a line of ninja Legos that are very popular with boys 7-14. There's a whole immersive world of minifigures (heroes, creatures, and skeletons) to draw on to put a Ninjago party together! The idea behind these photo backdrops was to bring some element of skate parks to my big boy's skateboard party. The inspiration was the wired fences you see at skate parks, and I used it to hang pictures of his past birthdays. This photo backdrops got lots of attention at the party!
