With the holidays fast approaching, I am getting all my recipes in order for our gift baskets. Ever since I was a little girl I have watched my mother bake. Christmas time for our family is a special time of year. We bake. We bake for family and friends.

Since we see so much on our site in the world of parties, once a month I'm going to highlight a popular trend in party styling we're witnessing. This month, it's fabric garlands. They are everywhere!

What's great about fabric garlands is they're simple to make -- they're just strips of fabric tied to a long ribbon.

When I see a new trend showing up on our site, especially one that's so beautiful, I have to share it right away. So here's my first trend spotting for 2015. Introducing... decorated stacked cookies. Aren't they gorgeous?!

Most of the ones we're seeing are simple sugar cookies or shortbread cookies, and sandwiched between them is pretty frosting. Plus there seems to be a definite flower theme, lots of piped rosettes and added gumpaste flowers. And don't forget the sparkle. To really make these decorated stacked cookies stand out, we're seeing glittered detail on the edges of the cookies, or completely covering the cookies.

I'm super excited to be speaking at the BASH Conference in January in Phoenix.

I attended the conference last year and had a great time seeing old friends, meeting friends in person I've known online for years, and getting to talk to lots of new people in the party space.
