My Daughter is Growing Up Fast and I'm Feeling Nostalgic...
My daughter, Lainey, will be finishing preschool in June and heading to kindergarten in the fall. This is the first time I'm starting to feel nostalgic. It really is true what they say about being a parent: the days are slow, but the years are fast. Where have these five years gone?
I'm not usually sentimental, but I must confess that when I see people display monthly photos of their babies during their first year at their first birthdays, I wish I had done that. I think I was just too busy and overwhelmed (and sleep deprived) to even think about it.
{DIY} Graduation Cap Cakes
With my daughter graduating from preschool in a few weeks, I've got graduation on the brain, so I had to share these graduation cap cakes Beth from Hungry Happenings made.
Aren't they clever?
Planning My Daughter's 4th Birthday - Cupcake Toppers From Two Sugar Babies
I'm a big fan of edible cupcakes toppers. I've never even tasted fondant but I think fondant toppers add such a special touch to a party.
So for my daughter's birthday, I've vetoed cake. The logistics are just too hard. Trying to cut it and serve it to 60 hungry people in under five minutes... impossible. So cupcakes it is!
Planning My Daughter's 4th Birthday - Budgeting
(Last day to enter our $50 CSN giveaway by telling us what you love about spring!)
As I've mentioned before, I'm on a strict budget for Adelaine's party and the rule at my daughter's preschool is you have to invite the whole class. That means I'm throwing a party for 60+ people. Yikes.
My Daughter's 4th Mermaid Birthday
Finally, finally. Now that my daughter and I have both recovered from being sick and I've returned from Bloggy Boot Camp, I'm finally able to post photos of my daughter's 4th mermaid birthday.
Here is my daughter with her fairy princess hat. She debated wearing a mermaid costume, but ultimately fell in love with this dress. The face paint was of her own design. Every Friday, the children at my daughter's preschool are able to paint their own faces, hence the face painting you'll see on the other little guests.
FREE PRINTABLES: Allergy Dessert Tags from Lollipops & Paper
Ces from Lollipops and Paper contacted me about giving away these allergy dessert tags she created to let guests know what is in desserts, and I thought this was a fabulous idea.
There is one child at my daughter's preschool with a serious peanut allergy so I understand how important this information is.
