I saw this ruffle garland in the photos of Leslie I's 60th Birthday Tradtional Tea Party and I fell in love. I'm always drawn to things that are a little unfinished or rough around the edges and that's what drew me to this garland.

As soon as I saw the photos from Laura B's Vintage Circus Birthday Party, I needed to know more, in fact I needed to know everything!

I contacted Laura, asked her some questions about her party, and here's what she said in all the gory details...

Long story short... My daughter loves piano, so my husband found a used keyboard on Craigslist. We picked it up in Manhattan Beach (about 40 minutes from our house) and there's a HomeGoods nearby. My husband, being the kind, generous, and patient man that he is, hung out with my four-year-old, while I got to shop.

It turns out that HomeGoods is owned by the same people as TJ Maxx, where I went a few weeks ago, so it was no surprise that they had many of the same items, but much much more. The store is heaven if you love parties, entertaining, and decorating. I felt infinitely creative just walking through the door.

Since we're all trying to save money throwing parties these days, I'm always looking for new ideas.

I love garlands! They are some of my favorite decorations, so when I stumbled upon this felt garland tutorial from Rebekah of Twinkle and Twine, I had to write about it.

The best thing about this felt letter garland is that there is a "sew" and a "no-sew" version, so for the non-sewers like me, there's no need to feel intimidated. How great would this look on your mantle or even wrapped up as a holiday gift?

Every time I plan a party, I'm always amazed at how many details there are and how much work the whole thing is.
