Oh! The places she will go! / Vintage travel themed baby shower

The mom to be is brazilian, the future dad is Belgian and the little girl will be American. They absolutely love to travel and asked me to help with a baby shower that could reflect that. They also wanted a picture perfect background for their photos.

They invited me to their house and showed me all their favorite decorative pieces, the things they bought for the baby during their travels and asked me to use as much as possible in the party.

The background was specially challenging since I had to prepare everything in advance and carry it all in a CRV. The solution was to buy foam boards, glue everything together and secure them with velcros on the wall like giant puzzle pieces. I've bought the tissue paper fans on oriental trading and made some of them to with maps and scrapbook paper sheets.

The party was filled with special details like the strawberry shortcake doll still in the box from when the mom was a little child, the teddy bear they bought in London for the little one, the French lavender they both love and that they bought in France and the wooden Vespa representing one of their favorite counties in the world.

• What People Ate

  The couple is vegetarian so they served some dips, couscous, vegetable pies, cheese and some brazilian finger food.

• What People Drank

  They served champagne, coconut water and sparkling water.

• Desserts

  The cake was made by Talita Josiah Daigle and the desserts were made by friends or bought at specialty stores. The macaroons are from Bite Houston.

  They gave their guests small boxes of Leonidas belgium chocolates and cute luggage tags.
