Shopping Spree Soirée

My daughter wanted to celebrate her 14th birthday at the mall. She was excited to spend time with her closest friends, taking selfies, and enjoying the freedom of exploring different stores. We converted the occasion into a full-blown shopping extravaganza called Mall Madness: Shopping Spree Soiree.

INVITATIONS: I designed custom 3.5x2.5 round corner invitations on Zazzle.com to resemble credit cards. To enhance the authenticity of the credit card invitations, I incorporated design elements such as the wireless symbol, a chip graphic, and the Visa logo. At the top of the invitation, it read Shopping Spree Card with a picture of a shopping bag in front. The wording was Let’s SLAY for Kaiylah’s 14th Birthday!!! Get ready to Shop ‘Til You Drop at Freehold Raceway Mall. Snag some Bags on 1-19-26 at 1:00p.m. R.S.V.P. The Retail Manager at 618..... At the bottom, it read Card Holder: Party Guest.

ATTIRE: For the photoshoot, the birthday girl wore a fitted white long sleeve shirt. She paired it with low waist baggy jeans that was accented with white lace trimming down each leg. She completed the outfit with classic white high-top Converse and silver earrings and necklace.
During the time of celebration, she wore a turquoise off the shoulder sweater with low waist wide leg baggy jeans. Her outfit was completed with white Adidas sneakers accented with turquoise stripes, gold earrings, and a pearly white Kendra Scott necklace framed in gold.
Big sister wore a black off the shoulder sweater paired with cargo wide leg baggy jeans. She completed the look with black and white low Nike Dunks and silver hoop earrings.
Dad kept it casual in a black Nike hoodie with black Nike sweatpants and black Nike sneakers.
I wore a black v-neck sweater with side slits at the bottom paired with denim flare jeans. Black glitter Steve Madden shoes and black wooden earrings completed the look.

DECORATIONS: The background of the cake table setup featured gold curtains. The table was draped in a black tablecloth with a shimmering turquoise runner layered across the table. The cake sat in the center of the table on a large metallic gold plate. Turquoise plates are paired with black and white diagonally striped napkins. Each setting included a set of plastic cutlery, black spoons and white forks. Clear plastic cups with black trim were placed above the plates.
The gift table was covered in a black tablecloth accented with turquoise confetti. The white ‘Happy Birthday’ bags trimmed in black were arranged on the table with turquoise tissue paper tucked inside, along with a black gift bag, and presents wrapped in turquoise and white ‘Happy Birthday’ wrapping paper. The base of the table was covered by black balloons. Behind the gift table hung a black fringe backdrop. On the left side of the table, there was a small artificial tree decorated with turquoise poinsettias, silver ornaments, and black and white checkered ribbons. On the right side, large turquoise number 1 and 4 balloons were outlined with small black balloon beads and black ribbons placed on each number balloon. The base of the balloon column had a cluster of teal and black balloons.

PARTY FAVORS: The party shoppers received black beaded keychain wristlet wallets, $5 Bath & Body Works gift cards, rainfall-scented hand sanitizers, turquoise chocolate flavored cakesicles with gold accents, and turquoise shoe boxes decorated with Nike signs that were filled with packs of coconut lip gloss and Extra peppermint gum.

THANK YOU: To align with the Shopping Spree Soiree theme, I used a 4x9 template on Zazzle.com and designed custom thank you cards to resemble real receipts. At the top, I added a shopping bag graphic next to the word “Receipt” to set the theme. The body of the receipt listed purchases such as ‘Dave & Busters’, ‘Mall Madness’, and ‘Birthday Memories’ with itemized prices next to them, followed by an inestimable total. I completed the receipt with a barcode at the bottom for a realistic retail aesthetic.
