This chick turned 8, and as a new backyard chicken owner, this party planning mother-daughter duo brought her chicken birthday dreams to life with this rustic, country living chicken themed birthday party complete with a "chicken treats" trailmix bar, haybail seating kids table, and an epic dessert table complete with a mouthwatering chicken feather cake, chicken sugar cookies, egg macarons and egg decor paraphernalia to last for days!

• What People Ate

  Guests enjoyed personalized lunch boxes with rustic farm to garden fresh bread, garden salad, caprese mozzarella salads and fresh pears, each family also enjoyed personalized family charcuterie boxes complete with farm veggies, cheeses, meats and pretzel rolls.

• What People Drank

  The huckleberry lemonade was a hit for both parents and kids

• Desserts

  The chicken themed rustic dessert table did not disappoint! The highlights were the Chicken feather oreo buttercream cake and matching sugar cookies, plus the "egg" macaron cookies. I supplemented the local bakers treats with store bought goodies, and dressed them up by cutting paper bags to make cupcake wrappers, tying them with twine and topping them with DIY farm cupcake toppers.

• Party Favors

  The kids enjoyed making their DIY trail mix and eating from compartmentalized egg cartons, as well as their "straw and egg" burlap bags filled with pretzel sticks and yogurt covered raisins.

• Activities / Games

  I am not usually one for organized activities and games, and prefer to just let the kids be kids! Since this was mainly a family party, the kids just played in the yard with the chickens!! They were the theme, and entertainment!
