Party Recap

Strike it big with your next celebration by throwing a bowling birthday party! Hoopla Events stylist, Heather threw this exciting party for her 9 year old daughter Taylor. Having spent several weeks learning the rules of the game and playing with classmates, Taylor thought this would be a great way to celebrate! No details were spared in the execution. Check out the bowling inspired decorations, trophy favors & amazing dessert spread all captured by Lauren Oliver Photography.

Guests were invited to “roll on over” with a colorful invitation designed by Amanda Parker of Amanda’s Parties To Go. Don’t you just love the retro feel? The color palette is so bright and fun! Shades of red, black, white and aqua made an incredible combination! Not to mention, chevron and polka dots are such trendy patterns!

Don’t you just love when you show up for a party and evidence of the fun to come is displayed outside for you to see? The addition of oversized printable décor to a potted plant and the chalkboard welcome sign made a darling little vignette. I bet guests couldn’t wait to get inside.

Inside, the festive décor continued. A printable banner highlighted the guest of honor’s name and added a great pop of color. A polka dot covered table was accessorized with a collection of red flowers, rustic bowling pins and a darling “Thank You–I had a ball!” sign. Delicious bowling themed cookies from Sugar Canvas Boutique Bakery looked amazing neatly displayed on a simple white stand. If you are more of a brownie person, those were available too! (I could use a brownie about now. How about you?) Party favor bags, customized with each guest’s initial sat ready for guests to enjoy.

Another preppy table was set up with additional treats and a few party activities. The polka dot runner paired with the aqua tablecloth made for a striking table, especially accented with a real bowling ball and pins! There was certainly not a shortage of candy.

Activities were plentiful. First, there was a “guess the amount of candy in a jar game”, which is always a crowd favorite. The next activity involved creating a keepsake for the birthday girl! How fun that guests got to leave a sweet message for Taylor on an actual bowling pin! And finally, a colorful photo booth was set up, allowing guests to “strike a pose”. I love the clever wording! Party guests enjoyed the photo booth props and posing with friends! The main event, however, was going bowling at a local bowling alley! A bowling party isn’t really a bowling party without knocking down a few pins!

Guests were able to enjoy their “spare” treats at an adorable table decked out in more aqua and black polka dotted details. A gorgeous flower display was flanked on each side by theme coordinating bowling printable centerpieces. Each place setting had a cute meal housed in a retro style red food basket with the cutest checked liners from Pink Lemonade Party Supply Store! Plastic milk bottles from Smashcake & Co. were filled with red punch & an aqua striped paper straw! I love how each guest had their very own customized trophy cup with sweets and a little printed pennant banner.

I think it’s safe to say, guests had a ball at this party, and took home their own bowling bag full of loot!
