Party Recap

My daughter wanted a spa and science party for her 9th birthday. What better way to combine the two and have a Science SPArty!

INVITATIONS: I made the invitations on card stock resembling instructions for a science experiment on notebook paper, but it was the wording of the invitations. I added spa and science clipart pics throughout the invitations.

ATTIRE: My daughter's outfit for professional photos was a black tank, black leggings underneath a purple/teal tutu, and personalized, matching Converse hi tops. She wore a purple, glitter pendant necklace and purple stud earrings. At the spa, she wore her purple, floral satin robe over her attire and purple flip flops adorned with purple/turquoise gems and a black flower in the center.
At the party, she wore a teal, turquoise, purple flower hair clip with a natural hairstyle that was similar to the female graphic design on her aqua shirt. The back of her shirt read Glamour Genius. She also wore purple glitter hoop earrings that matched the graphic design. She had on black leggings and the personalized Converse shoes. Her satin lab robe was turquoise, unlike her beauty guests.
Her little sister and I wore the same exact shirt as the birthday beauty with black leggings. On the back of our shirts, hers read Sweet & Sassy and mine read High Maintenance. Her sister wore a purple, satin lab robe like the other guests.

DECORATIONS: Upon entering, each beauty scientist had to scan in to be admitted. The Glamatory was set up with instructions of how to make Fluffy Foam Slime with goggles placed on the table. In the Glam Lab, they had to put on their satin lab robes that were placed on their chairs, along with their eye masks. The table was setup with cucumbers, nail polish, and makeup.
The cake table was decorated with the cake of course; spa and science themed cookies; a mirror; plates and utensils. The Spa Schedule was set on the gift table with a purple tablecloth.
In the Glamour Shot room, turquoise and purple foil metallic fringe curtains were on the wall as a backdrop. An inflatable lipstick and a nail polish balloon columns were used as photo props.

FOOD: The beauty scientists ate spa and science themed cookies; chips; cake; and Sparkling White Grape Juice.

ACTIVITIES: The beauty scientists first made Fluffy Foam Slime at the Glamatory; next, they had facial services; basic manicures; and cosmetics.

PARTY FAVORS: Each beauty scientist received the following items: Let’s SPArty t-shirt; purple satin lab robe; black eye mask; magnifying glass; hand lotion; nail polish; nails file; chapstick; manicure dividers; polish remover; bottle of sparkling juice; loofah; spa head wrap; goggles; and a hair brush.

THANK YOU CARDS: I wanted the thank you cards to look like the cover of a magazine. I went on Vistaprint.com and designed a magazine cover thank you card with pictures of my daughter from her photoshoot.
