Rustic Pop baby shower

When my dear friend announced her 4th pregnancy, I instantly knew the theme of her baby shower. This precious Mum's favourite colour is bright orange, so I wanted this to be the main feature of the shower. I teamed it up with perhaps an unlikely partner in old rustic timbers and earthy tones, as I wanted the bright tangerine colour to literally POP out at the guests. I kept everything else as neutral and textural as possible, using old wooden palettes and hessian as the backdrop, rugged timber pieces, old boxes, string and timber tree slices.
I decorated the paper favour bags with simple cardboard tags. I glued an orange paper flower onto each tag and stamped the guests names on them. Each bag contained an orange scented candle.

• Desserts

  Naked Gingerbread cake, Tim Tam cake pops and mandarin and white chocolate cupcakes. Chocolate covered Oreos and ginger spice biscuits were all enjoyed by the guests.

• Party Favors

  Orange candles were placed in customised paper bag as party favours.

  My dear children helped bake the biscuits, make the favour tags, stamp napkins and even crochet a baby bib for the new Mum.
