MTV Spring Break 90's Party

For my 40th Birthday I wanted to celebrate the themes that were representative of my tween and teen years in the late 90's and early 2000's. I hosted a 90's themed pool party based on MTV's Spring Break series that I grew up watching. All guests came dressed in their 1990's themed pool and beach attire and were met with vibrant colors throughout my backyard, complete with a "beach boutique" which housed favors such as flip flops, sunblock, sunglasses, beach bags, popcorn and cotton candy. Guests also received custom beach towels with the party theme and logo. We danced the night away to all of my favorite songs growing up in Southern California from Snoop Dogg to Ice Cube. It was truly an old school kickback!

• What People Ate

  A custom made to order quesadilla station, in addition to passed appetizers including Charcuterie cups, Shrimp Bruschetta, Mini Crab Cakes, and Skewered Jerk Chicken

• What People Drank

  Guests received cold margaritas upon entering, and then had custom adult pouched cocktails, in addition to signature cocktails named after some of my favorite songs, and a full open bar.

• Desserts

  Guests snacked on cotton candy and popcorn.

• Party Favors

  Guests were able to select favors from the "beach boutique" which included beach bags, custom towels, flip flops, sunblock, and sunglasses.

• Activities / Games

  The DJ played all of our favorite late 90's and early 2000's songs and the bravest of guests did karaoke belting out their favorite lyrics.

  Kimberly Brown is the owner of Tasteworthy Events planning service. She and her staff brought my idea to life from beginning to end, including event design, planning, and vendor management.

  Erica is the owner of Eyes by Erica and helped bring my 90's look to life with makeup of the time that was still complimenting and contemporary.
