Modern Nursery Inspired Baby Shower
ByParty Recap
A very good friend of mine wanted to throw her sister a baby shower and approached me for help. I was given a picture of what her nursery was going to look like and used it for inspiration. I took the colors and patterns from the the nursery and embellished upon them to create this Modern Inspired Baby Shower. I made yarn poms for centerpieces (to save on from buying flowers) and added in various sayings on signs. To add a big statement I had my friends husband construct wooden blocks, which I then sanded, painted and designed to put the baby's name on. I wanted to do something different for a sign in...trying to think out of the box, I came up with the idea of having guests sign on a chevron fabric tie that I had sewed together with leftover fabric I had. With the autographed tie, the Mom to be could use it to decorate the baby's nursery. It definitely made the statement I wanted! Guests played a game called Mom or Dad?...lots of questions asked about the parents and guest answered holding up either, lips for mom or a mustache for dad. I created a photo booth out of yarn poms and added a chalkboard among the props to give guest a chance to write a message to baby Luke. I made a wrist corsage for the Mom to be, which turned out adorable and made a special non-alcoholic orange punch in honor of the mom to be. I had so much fun coming up with ideas for this shower...so many details and it was worth it! And the bright colors, were stunning.
