Party Recap

We wanted to celebrate our second pregnancy with our families and friends by hosting a co-ed baby sprinkle. Since our son's due date was in July, we thought a barbeque would be the perfect way to celebrate!
We served barbeque food, cupcakes, cookies and kid-friendly food as well. To keep the kids entertained, we had a bounce house, a sand box and bubble station. Our party favor was smores kits which were a huge hit. Everyone had a great time and it was beautiful day!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

We served a charcuterie board for the appetizer and the dinner portion consisted of your classic barbeque food - hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, smoked brisket, cole slaw, potato salad, fruit salad, baked bean casserole, homemade macaroni and cheese, collard greens, corn on the cob and homemade corn bread.

  • What People Drank

I set up a bar that consisted of homemade lemonade with fresh fruit mix-ins, water, soda, seltzer, beer and wine. Unfortunately, when I was making the iced tea, my mason jar drink dispenser cracked and so I wasn't able to serve that.

  • Desserts

I had a local baker make a variety of cupcakes - vanilla and chocolate, cookie n' creme, strawberry shortcake and lemon. They were a huge hit and so delicious! I also had a local cookie baker make custom bbq-themed cookies as well. They came out so cute!

  • Party Favors

To go along with the bbq theme, I made smores kits for the favors. They were a huge hit as well! I also put together favors for the kids which consisted of a coloring book, crayons, sunglasses and bubbles.

  • Activities / Games

To keep the kids entertained, we had a bounce house, sand box and bubble station. Since both men and women were attending, I wanted an activity that included the guys as well. I set up a "late night diapers" station and some of those diapers were pretty funny!
