Party Recap

We celebrated my daughter's 4th birthday with a Minnie's Bake Shop themed party. She loves Minnie Mouse and all things sweet so it was the perfect fit.

Idea

Party Highlights

  • Best Dressed

Everyone looked great in their Minnie Mouse aprons & chef hats!

  • Desserts

Minnie Mouse chocolate cupcakes w/ oreos baked in.

  • Activities / Games

The kids made their hot dogs for lunch and while those baked we colored Shrinky Dinks, baked them and then made them into key chains, bracelets & necklaces.

  • Best Moment

There were too many great moments to count...mostly dealing with the chocolate fountain! LOL

  • What People Ate

For Lunch we had "Minnie" BBQ Beef Sliders, Loaded Baked Potatoes & the little kids hand rolled Hot Dogs in Crescent Rolls and then we baked them. We also had lots and lots and lots of sweet treats from the shop!

  • What People Drank

We had Chocolate & Strawberry Milk, Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade & a Sherbert, 7Up & Squirt punch.

  • Funniest Moment

When we were filling the chocolate fountain with the premelted chocolate a bunch of it ran all over the front of the table and all over the floor. Of course it was right when guests started arriving...but we had some good laughs as we cleaned it all up!

Thank you both!! Nope, I didn't hire anyone. I did most of the work myself including the bake shop awning, invitations, signs, etc.). My mom helped me out with the aprons. I made some of the bake shop goodies and some were purchased(there were toooooo many to make them all).

My children and I were guests of this AMAZING party. No detail was left behind. From the moment I opened the invite, entering the "bake shop," and enjoying the festivities, the feeling of this party was 101% on point. The house actually smelled like a bake shop! The activities were well planned for the children and the adults enjoyed watching the sparkle in every child's eye. At the end of the party, our gift bags were taking the bake shop treats home. Mikie is absolutely amazing and I am so proud to say I am her friend. She is one of a kind for sure and I anticipate she will go far in this biz!!!

  • Mikie M

    Mikie M wrote:

Thanks, Mardia! The placemats are actually flexible cutting boards that I found on ebay for super cheap. Then I just stuck mouse ear die cut under them.

Was this homemade? If so, how did you make the canopy?

  • Mikie M

    Mikie M wrote:

The shelving I used is from Ikea. It's their Expedit shelving unit. the top canopy I made out of strips of colored cardboard. I used red and white tri-fold project board (from Joann's) and cut 12" sections for each stripe and taped them together on the backside. I rounded the ends and folded them down. I cut out right triangle shapes for the sides to get the angle and a support strip in the back to hold it all together. Then just set it on top of the shelving unit. Hope that helps!
