Party Recap

Picasso once said that “Every child is an artist…”. If this is true, isn’t it a great theme for a party!?!? Madison’s mom sure thought so when brainstorming for her daughter’s 3rd birthday. The creative direction we were given was white with pops of color, so a bright and cheery palette of pink/turquoise/yellow/lime green/purple brought this art party to life.
When guests entered the space, a large tree adorned with clusters of colorful lanterns greeted them. To give the design a modern edge, we incorporated pink & white chevron table runners on the white picnic tables, buffet and sweets table. Centerpieces were paint cans with vinyl “drips” made for some adorable “vases” holding simple white flowers. Chip brushes dipped in paint added a pop of color.
What toddler doesn’t love balloons--- especially when they are huge? Faces lit up when they saw the balloon “wall” behind the sweets table. Tissue tassels hung from them to help fill in the white wall canvas behind the table. Colorful treats named after artists like Vincent Van Gogh-reos (chocolate dipped Oreos), Rivera (rice) Krispie Treat pops resembling paint brushes, and Picasso (cake) Pops displayed in larger paint cans were a feast for little eyes (and taste buds). The cake was a masterpiece! A paint can with pink paint spilling out, an artist palette and paint brushes combined with bright paint splatters made a beautiful and delicious capper to the event.
Aspiring young artists were invited to create works of their own using paint and crayons. A balloon artist/face painter and a bounce house also kept the kids entertained, while adults nibbled and enjoyed grown-up conversation.
The kids kept their masterpieces- and to let them keep their creative juices flowing at home- were given art supplies as favors.
