Party Recap

Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, Madeline is turning TWO!
We celebrated our little girls second birthday with a vintage nursery rhyme theme which combined two of her LOVES, books and animals- specifically, cows. We celebrated at home with our family and friends and featured nursery rhyme theme crafts, story time, coordinating food from nursery rhyme, and of course CAKE! We made two crafts, the dish ran away with the spoon and the cow jumped over the moon with their handprints.

We had a buffet of food featuring this little piggy had roast beef sandwiches, the little piggy had none crescent shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, jack and jill ran up the hill to fetch a pail of watermelon, three blind mice cheese and crackers, humpty dumpty deviled eggs, mary mary quite contrary how does your garden grow veggies with ranch dip, and three little pigs in a blanket. Not surprising, the three little pigs in a blanket were the first to be eaten!

We had craft time, snack time, and then story time were my mom read some of madeline's favorite nursery rhymes. Afterwards, we had a whole lot of "helpers" open the presents. The boys even ended the party with a dip in the pool!

I had a lot of amazing helpers to help me pull this party off. The amazing cut outs that you see my Dad made for Madeline's party. His work never ceases to amaze me and everything coordinated perfectly from the invitation from Leveret Paperie, who was a JOY to work with. The darling cookies were from #itsdoughtimebaby from Auburn, Alabama and tasted as amazing as they looked. I can not say enough about her customer service as she actually drove the cookies to make sure I would have them for the party after she had something prevent her from finishing in time to mail them. the birthday cake was by Katrina Phillips and featured both chocolate and vanilla cake with buttercream icing with matching nursery rhyme fondant characters. The cake absolutely tasted as delicious as it looked and matched PERFECTLY with the decor.
