Party Recap

I have always had all my children’s birthday parties at home. I just have never been big on the local kid’s party venues. I know it’s a huge advantage for most because they do just about everything for you. They provide the food, cake, entertainment, decorations, and the clean up.
But, for this mom… those are all my favorite things about parties. Well, I can do without the clean up.
So my kids have been begging to have their party at the local bounce house location. I’ve been successfully dodging the bullet for a few years now, but they finally wore me down. The way only kids can. I swear they have regular meetings to hash out their strategies against us.
So let the planning begin. First of all, the bright colors of the room and the limits on decorations and food you can serve really narrowed my options. As you can see, the room was bright red and teal and the only outside food I could serve was cake and ice cream. Not to mention that this was a combined party for both my son and daughter so it needed to be a gender-neutral party. Are you starting to see why I don’t like doing parties at venues?
So I came up with a vintage, Coca-Cola, red and teal, Ice Cream Social. It turned out to be a hit.
