Party Recap

We had so much fun celebrating our sweet girl’s 2nd Birthday party!! I searched high and low (aka- spent too much time on Pinterest) debating on themes and when I found this one I knew it was perfect for our girl. She loves her some pancakes! For real though, she is obsessed so it was a no brainer. Once I took her to pick out her birthday pajamas she was sold! I’ve never seen a ONE year old so excited for a party in my life, which made the whole thing that much more fun for us all. She carried her plates and napkins around for days.

I think getting her involved with so much of the party helped. She saw her invitations and printables first. She was so excited. “Mama, my birthday?” She asked about every single thing that came into our house in the coming weeks leading up to her big day! I loved creating these invitations and printables and that’s why I want to share them with YOU! Click over to www.dearowen.com to get your own!

I started with the invitation and then decided it would be fun to make placemats for the kids’ table. These are 8.5 X11 and are double sided. One side black and white so the kids could color on it and the other was in color for decoration. I wrote “Claire’s Pancake House” on the front because I couldn’t resist.

We decorated the kids table with kraft paper and placemats. Each child had a little favor bag that I cut to hold their crayons and a fork, (I just used our replay utensils which I love!) a napkin and then a placemat at “their” spot. We used two different kids table’s one of ours and one from my SIL. Tied tulle on the chairs and I wanted to make sure to have a little “backdrop” for pictures .

For the backdrop I used streamers and went for sort of an ombre look. 3 dark pink, 3 light pink and twisted them, then taped them straight to the wall. Super easy. The big metallic mylar 2 balloon and our pink balloon bundle definitely helped add some dimension and then I added our Shop Sweet Lulu accordion flowers to the wall.

And in the middle of the table a small cake stand with “bacon and eggs. ” These were also one of my favorite details and were a hit with the adults and kids! All you need are pretzel sticks, white candy melts, and yellow MM’s. Line a cookie sheet with foil. Put two of your pretzel sticks together and put a candy melt on top. Pop them in the oven at 275 degrees for about 2 minutes, just until the almond bark has gotten soft, and then immediately put your yellow MM’s on top!

The “birthday cake” was a mini pancake stack made with funfetti cake mix with an icing drizzle for the top!

The birthday party was fantastic and the Birthday Girl could not have been happier, what more can you ask for?
