Party Recap

What do you get when a mama-to-be loves her personal touches and sweet unique details, a baby shower inspired by her favorite childhood stories of Peter Rabbit and a simple rustic garden. With an ethereal baby’s breath garland, custom cross stitched table numbers, vintage books and a dessert swing display made by dada -- loved ones gathered in warmth and care to celebrate this bundle of joy that was soon to hop into their lives…..

Can we talk about this custom wood creation as the pretty seating chart — adorned with a modern copper stand and draped with a delicate blush linen and baby’s breath garland it might be at the top of my list of favorite details. It perfectly blended mama-to-be’s love of rustic modern softness, to create a dreamy and delicate entrance.

Juliana Martinez Photography certainly makes this baby shower entrance, and every other detail created, even more beautiful than everyone could have imagined!

The fun directional sign is one of several pieces we happily reused from Vanessa and Al’s wedding. There is nothing more special than keeping cherished pieces from your special day, and then repurposing them for another, even more special day, like your baby shower! It’s beautiful how Vanessa and Al wanted to incorporate these elements, as if intertwining and carrying these heirloom pieces they’ve created, into the next chapter of their storybook.

There was plenty of pretty things atop each table! Wild and lovely blooms of fragrant Eucalyptus, Peach and Blush colored Roses, Ranunculus, whimsical Queen’s Anne Lace and Scabiosa, nestled in vintage inspired hobnail vases were the perfect pop of color…in the most subtle of ways.

Table numbers were each hand stitched by Vanessa’s friend, beautifully fitted into an embroidery hoop and placed onto wood easel. A new heirloom piece parents-to-be can’t wait to incorporate into baby Penelope’s life. Each table also featured a sweet Peter Rabbit storybook, that now fill’s baby’s nursery.

While the conversations and laughs rolled on and yummy food and drinks were shared, there was also lots of fun to be had while sitting! Each place setting featured an “Over or Under” game and dainty baskets with supples to play “How Big is Momma’s Belly?” which all matched the darling invitations.

Not only did dada’s custom-built dessert swing display make a stunning statement underneath the grand chandelier, the endless windows and soft sunlight made these sweet treats and details, too pretty to eat or touch……but I’m sure Peter Rabbit and his friends wouldn’t be able to resist, and neither did we!
I love working with Jamm Events, her sweets are always just soo pretty, and yummy! She created the perfectly fitting naked carrot cake, the oh-so-cute veggie patch and bunny “bum” cake pops, and sugar cookies with images from Peter Rabbit’s storybook adventures.

And there was loads more fun to have indeed! Guests were treated to a lush table of activities, games and nooks to place their “Books for Baby” which were brought in lieu of cards. Baskets were also scattered to drop in their diapers which earned them an entry to the Diaper Raffle, as well as a “Cotton Ball” guessing game — another simple nod to the Peter Rabbit theme.

“Read me a story, tuck me in tight, say a sweet prayer and kiss me Goodnight….” Another beautiful touch from mama, the same sign used at her wedding, now redone to feature a loving quote and endless prayer cards from loved ones, baby Penelope can cherish for years to come.

Nestled on the other side, lingered the soothing and invigorating scents of lavender sachet favors placed on mommy and daddy’s vintage cart, also used at their wedding.

Each detail had a purpose and special meaning behind it. Those are the kind of creative touches and moments I love most when planning and styling an event!

Congratulations Vanessa and Al, baby Penelope has so much love and care around her. It’s always such a pleasure to work with this family to make sure special memories. I can’t wait to see how your sweet story unfolds…
