I find using multiply, soft light and screen blend modes in photoshop work best with these.
Useful as a colour enhancement and the transparent ones as a beautiful light flare.

These have been created in CS6. I am unsure as to whether they will install and work in earlier versions of Photoshop.

***Just a little side note.***

To install gradients into photoshop, please follow the below instructions.

Select the gradient tool.
Go to the gradients panel / presets picker (top left)
Go to the right side menu.
Select the load or replace command.
Browse for the gradients GRD file.
