Zion's Luau Sweet 16 Birthday

Zion wanted a Hawaiian-themed party but she opted out of the typical brightly colored flowers. She wanted a nod to the lush greenery of the countryside. We chose a dark green, antique gold, cream and white. In lieu of a photo booth, I chose a white bounce house. In lieu of favors, I hired a caricature artist and it was a hit with guests. The Polynesian performers started the party off right and the flame thrower made her grand entrance extra special!

• What People Ate

  My mom made walking charcuterie boxes as party starters. I had Pollo Tropical cater individual meals for guests - protein, rice, beans and a roll.

  bounce house, dancing, 16 candle ceremony, crowning ceremony (we presented girls looking forward to their 16th birthday with crowns and asked that they give it away to someone else when they turn 16... princesses wear tiaras, queens wear crowns. Princesses are served, queens look for ways to be of service to others).
