Party Recap

I am so excited to share this beautiful backyard fiesta- my grad Maci, like all 2020 grads - missed out on some big things her senior year. Spring sports, Senior Prom, even actual Graduation- it was so important to me this year to make sure the few events we did get to have, truly felt like celebrations! It May have been over a month later than we had planned, and we may not have got to see as many of our friends as we would have liked- but this party was special, truly all about our girl Maci, and the vibe she loved.

Capturing this special day was put in the hands of one of my fave photogs- Ilennis Martinez @ilennismartinezphotography - her work is amazing, every client that receives a gallery from her is usually crying happy tears once they scroll through their images- calling and texting me, raving about how special she made them feel, how beautiful the photos are. I can’t say enough good things about her, it is so important to have a quality photographer for your big life events, and Ilennis is one of the best in the biz!

This Texas Tech fiesta grad party had some really fun stuff- including a memory station that was truly one of a kind! When a client asks you to incorporate their super rad longhorn mounted Cadillac you say, yes ma’am! I dubbed her “Memory Lane” and once we got her a fancy new decal, she hauled miss @ramblingrosestyling to our soirée and we filled her up with pictures and ribbons and belt buckles and our guests could sit and scroll through photo albums - probably one of my favorite elements I’ve ever done for a grad party! It l made sense that with all the drive through parties poppin up these days that we incorporate some of that into our design- the memory lane decal was the perfect signage for this ultra cool walk up photo station/memory camper. A custom 4-H ribbon + belt buckle backdrop was such a chic and fun installation for me to create!

2020 looks better in rose gold, am I right? Who needs a backdrop when you’ve got arborvitaes? Another fun and creative way we decked out this backyard grad party from our dreams! Since Maci is headin down south we decided to keep the party a fiesta- Texas style! Bright colors and funky old school decor elements worked so well with our laid back fiesta style fun. Maci’s fave color is yellow- so yellow serape runners it is! I’m a sucker for a foam finger and a tassel, tiny red 2020 tassels hung off of our fun DIY centerpieces- a couple of dahlia buckets from Columbia River Dahlias @columbiariverdahlias made us all feel like pros- if you’re partying on a budget and can’t afford a florist for your event- I highly recommend checking out some of the local flower farmers and what they offer!

Wreck ‘Em Rita’s seemed like the perfect bev. for our Texas Tech Red Raiders fiesta! We had an amazing taco bar, mechanical bull, longhorn details, and some adorable Texas themed treats! We even setup a fun fringe + balloon photo op with Texas tech props for our guests to snap selfies at! I definitely loved the sunset colors!
