Woodland Baby Girl Shower

The baby shower was for a first time mom, having a little girl. The theme was Woodland with birch bark, baby animal, and pink touches throughout. We had 3 2-layer (homemade) cakes and an ice cream sundae bar (in honor of mom's love of ice cream). We played three games: baby animal match (https://www.etsy.com/listing/180664017/woodland-baby-animal-match-game-baby?ref=shop_home_feat_1), the diaper raffle drawing and baby bingo (https://www.etsy.com/listing/180688428/woodland-baby-bingo-game-card-baby?ref=shop_home_active_13). Guests also filled out well wishes cards for the baby (https://www.etsy.com/listing/179783436/well-wishes-baby-wishes-card-4x9-card?ref=shop_home_active_14) and provided their addresses for thank you card envelopes (https://www.etsy.com/listing/179794911/woodland-address-on-thank-you-card?ref=shop_home_active_6). Prizes were 3 handmade "Summer in a Jar" jars. Favors were handmade body scrubs. We had a lot of fun with this completely customized baby girl shower!

• What People Ate

  Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and chocolate buttercream icing; White cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream icing; Strawberry cake with strawberry icing

• What People Drank

  Unsweetened tea, green sweet tea, water (with ice cubes that had mint leaves frozen in them)

• Desserts

  Ice cream sundae bar- vanilla ice cream in mason jars- guests added toppings of their choice and ate out of the mason jars

  Handmade body scrubs- lavender, citrus and eucalyptus mint

• Grandma

  Grandma baked and filled all of the cakes (and I, the Aunt, made all the filling and icings and iced them). Grandma also froze all the mint leaves in ice cubes, cleaned all the mason jars and helped decorate for the shower.

• Aunt's Mother-in-Law

  My mother in law provided most of the borrowed family items like the galvanized trays, mason jars and drink pitchers. She also came to town a day early to help decorate!
