Party Recap

I volunteered to hostess a table at our Annual Women's Tea at church. I had to provide everything to decorate the table and bring a little something to eat. It turned out so much better than I thought it would, because up until the night before I thought for sure it was gonna be a disaster! After about a month of religiously going to thrift stores looking for mismatched dishes. Thank the Lord it all came together!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Egg Sandwiches on Rye bread "Friendship" bread Mini cherry and blueberry pies Mini Lemon cakes filled with raspberry curd and topped with lemon buttercream

  • What People Drank

A large variety of different teas and ice water

  • Desserts

Mini cakes, pies and "Friendship" bread.

  • Party Favors

Myself, and a few other women(including my mom:)) made little tea cup magnets for all the women.

  • Best Moment

Seeing my table all put together and seeing it didn't look like the disaster I thought it would be in my mind a few days before!

  • Funniest Moment

Dropping and breaking a cup in front of the other 30 women decorating their tables and having the entire room stop and say "Awwwwwww." I was red. I don't like being the center of attention. Especially for making a fool of myself.

  • Most Touching Moment

Having people admire my table and cakes and them telling me I have a "real talent". It is wonderful to hear considering for the last 28 years I was convinced I got skipped over when talents were being handed out!
