Party Recap

The birthday boy, Matthew, loves Elmo (as most kids do). We began brainstorming ideas for party planning decorations, and the rest of the Sesame Street gang was soon invited to join in on the fun. Welcome to Matthew’s Street!

Sugar Blast Events was excited to incorporate the Sesame Street theme on the dessert table, kids table, and the venue; and to make it feel real, we used the environment of Sesame Street as the backdrop of the party. Our intention was for everyone at the party to really feel like they were on Sesame Street. We kept the primary color scheme of red, blue, green, yellow to add bold and bright ambience to the party. It was definitely a fun way to get all of the little ones excited on Matthew’s party.

Before entering the party, a colorful DIY balloon wreath welcome the guests to Matthew’s Street. Every table had a centerpiece featuring a plush Sesame Street character and a street sign. The walkway to the party featured banner signs alerting guests “Welcome to Matthew’s Street”. Above the food table, we placed props of 4 main characters of Sesame Street (Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and Oscar the Grouch) to set the tone for the party, and really transformed the room into Sesame Street.

Desserts are always a big part of any birthday parties and this was no exception! As with the rest of the party, we wanted the desserts to represent Matthew’s Street. The dessert table was finished off with delicious red velvet cake pops, Sesame Street themed cupcakes, Mathew’s Street cookies, cotton candy, popcorn, cookie monsters cookies, lollipops, goldfish, and of course adorable birthday cake complete with a custom street sign styled topper!
