Party Recap

Before my family and I moved away from San Diego, (a city we love), we threw one last party and invited our dear friends. We called it our "we heart San Diego party," and the overall concept was to incorporate all of our favorite local foods and drinks on the menu--things we knew we would really miss after we moved--and also to have a traveling/flying/love theme and to utilize airplanes, suitcases, and hearts in the party decor.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

-grilled veggie, ham, turkey and roast beef sandwiches on artisan Breads from Con Pane - Cheeses, quark and European style butter from Spring Hill Jersey Cheese Farm & The San Diego Cheese Store (sold at the Little Italy Farmer's Market) - Petit desserts from Extraordinary Desserts - Banh mi Vietnamese baguette sandwiches from K Sandwiches - chips and my husband's favorite dipping sauce from the Little Italy Farmer's Market - Juices, trail mix, strawberries & oranges from Trader Joe's (I am so sad there are no Trader Joe's where we live now!)

  • Party Favors

We made and gave away a cd of songs that will always remind my husband & me of our time in San Diego--songs we belted out in our cas, driving south on the 163 and west on the 8. Songs we danced to in the kitchen. Songs I listened a lot to when my husband was out of town or deployed.
