Violet's Princess Party

Party Recap
This was a Princess's dream party! I put this party together for my daughter's 3rd birthday. I like to throw parties that are over the top but I also like to make it easy on myself! I created all of the dessert items for the party, except for the cake. The cake was inspired by a wedding dress cupcake-cake I saw on Pinterest. I asked a friend if she thought she could make the cake but with a Princess Sofia theme. It turned out amazing! Tasted even better! Cupcake-cakes...so easy! Pull apart and eat! No fuss!
I have always enjoyed being at a party that had a "homemade feel" it is just so special! I really tried to make this party have that homemade feel. I searched craft stores, dollar stores, grocery stores and found inexpensive items that I could use to make a great party. I searched the web for inspiration and put my own spin on the things that I liked and thought I could handle making!
I started by having each Princess represented by a sweet treat. Cinderella's Shoes, Rapunzel's Lanterns, Tiana's Kisses, Ariel's Treasure, Aurora's Pillow, and Belle's Roses. All of these desserts were semi-homemade. I bought most of the items at the grocery or craft store and then dressed them up a bit! Melting chocolate is your best friend! Buy it on sale in every color, you can dip just about anything. It is seriously an inexpensive way to spruce the dessert table up! Just be careful! IT GETS HOT!
I did not give out goodie bags. I think the bags are overrated and expensive to put together! In lieu of bags the girls were given tutus and the boys were given a shield. The tutus I found online at The Hair Bow Company, and the shields I found at the craft store in the VBS section. The tutu's were bought in bulk and I saved a ton of money! They were really great quality and the girls looked adorable! Perfect twirling accessory for a Princess!
Activities were kept simple, a sticker table, dance party and old fashioned soap bubbles were all the kids needed to stay engaged and happy!
My big splurge was renting the ice cream truck! Snow Dog Ice Cream Truck arrived at the party with the ice cream truck jingle playing and the kids went crazy! This was the best part of the party! My daughter got to serve the ice cream to her friends and it was such a a hit! The party ended with sticky fingers and ice cream mustaches...and memories were made!
This party may look over the top, but I assure you if you do your research and get a little crafty you can pull off an over the top party with ease!
