I wanted to create a mermaid / pirate party for my daughter's 4th Birthday but didn't want to use the traditional colour scheme! So the Vintage Mermaid and Faded Pirate Party theme was born, using soft beach colours of peach, mint, aqua and sand. I used natural fabrics and floaty fabrics and lace to create a dreamy, sea-swept scene. More details and pictures available on my blog:

    Hi Kimberly, I buried plastic gold coins in the sand and then each child had a go at digging for them. A lot of messy fun, but fine outdoors on a disposable tablecloth :)
