Vintage Carousel 1st Birthday

It all began four months before the time and both my client and I were in between themes and eventually my client decided on the Vintage Carousel theme with a mint green, gold and a touch of pink for the color scheme. I absolutely love this charming colour scheme and I am sure my sister will say it’s because those were her wedding colours!! Anyway, this first birthday vintage carousel theme was inspired by the little girl’s name.. Sonia.. which means.. The Golden One.

The Venue

For our Vintage Carousel 1st birthday party venue, we chose the Dainfern Country Club. Besides the fact that it is a beautiful venue, my client hosted her Paris themed baby shower there which was also styled by Outlandish Events. Vintage Carousel 1st Birthday Party Decor Details..

Our centrepieces were made of beautiful pink flowers and gold laser cut carousel horses on a mirror base. Each table had a frame with various sayings including the meaning of Sonia’s name.

For the backdrop, I found the perfect material that fitted the theme, I can’t explain but it had that carousel feel I was looking for. I glammed the backdrop up with some trendy and elegant paper flowers in the colour scheme. I was amazed at the result as it was better than I expected.

What’s a carousel party without a candy cart?! We filled the candy cart with popcorn tubs and candyfloss tubs. These tubs of awesomeness were given as party favours to all the kids. They were spoilt rotten as we also had toy puppies up for adoption for each little person.

This Vintage Carousel 1st birthday dessert table were loaded with yummy goodies.. Cake pops, cupcakes, delicious donuts, macarons.. The cake was a stunner! The drip cake my client chose was adorned with popcorn, candy floss and mini macarons. We topped the cake with a carousel and a gold topper that said “Sonia is One”. The cookies were just as gorgeous and hand painted. They spelt “Sonia is One”.

For the kids’ table we went with gold mason jars filled with a giant rainbow lollies. We laid a sparkly mint green tulle for a runner. This table would have been incomplete without the kiddies tiffany chairs! Again, each child was treated to a party box filled with goodies. Two little hands were not enough for all the goodies they got to take home! Our magician did a fantastic job keeping both parents and kids entertained.
