Party Recap

With Valentine's Day approaching real soon, I thought it would be fun to put together a little Valentine's Card Making Party for our kids. Our daughter's room seemed like the perfect place to have it as it is a vision in various shades of white and pink. Wrapping paper with floating balloons in light pink, dark pink and red that I framed was the starting point for the theme: Float Away With Me! Maria of Partymazing collaborated on this party with me and created a cute milk bottle label with an elephant holding a floating balloon that I used throughout the party. Our daughter's dresser held all the toppings for the chocolate fondue that I had made with Swiss chocolate as a special treat. I kept the toppings fairly simple. Besides the tower of strawberries and marshmallows, there were raspberries and various cookies.  Stored all the cards and craft supplies in my daughter's "dollhouse" which is actually a bookshelf that Santa turned into a dollhouse a few years ago. I am planning to leave the craft supplies out until Valentine's Day so the kids can go back and create more cards for family and friends this upcoming week. I placed our kids' Valentine's cards from previous years onto the bed so they could look through them and read them again. Another fun detail were the friendship coupons that Maria had made. Each of the kids got twelve coupons they can use this month to choose something special. I love that the coupons are all for experiences, like "choosing a board game" or "having a crafty afternoon".

All in all, we had a fun afternoon making Valentine's cards and enjoying some yummy chocolate fondue.

Here's to hoping you will all have a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with love and laughter!
