Party Recap

We held a Unicorn / My Little Pony Party for this Unicorn mad 4 year old girl. The birthday girl arrived into the hall under a rainbow walkway. When all of the children had arrived (and expelled some energy on the bouncy castle) we gathered in the entrance and the birthday girl taught everyone her special Unicorn chant (the one she is sure resulted in a Unicorn eating the peach she left out overnight at center parcs). As we all said it together the unicorn came in round the corner and the faces of the children are the reason I do this job :-)

The children all ran out in the freezing cold to brush and ride the unicorn. As the children came in after their turns they got to have their nails painted at Rarity's boutique, they got cutie marks from the cutie mark crusaders booth and they got to fill sweet bags at Pinkie Pie's candy cart.

We decorated the dinner table with confetti balloons and stunning balloon tassels in peach and gold colourings. We placed pony tails on the back of each chair. They acted as a pretty decoration and also a gift for the children to take home.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

The birthday girls favourite food is Yorkshire puddings so we did Yorkshire puddings, cocktail sausages and beans! A surprisingly easy but great party meal

  • What People Drank

We considered doing sweet apple acres apple juice but the birthday girl wanted orange squash so that is what she got!

  • Desserts

Pinata Cake YUM and sweets from the candy cart

  • Party Favors

We made pony tails with elasticated wastes as the party favors. We hung them on each chair at the table so they acted as a decoration and then each child could choose where they sat based on their favourite tail. After dinner they all ran around with their tails on and it was very sweet! The children were also allowed to fill a bag of sweets from Pinkie Pie's sugar cube corner

  • Activities / Games

We played a game I called rainbow- dash. The children were split into 2 teams with a rainbowdash wagon each. They had to run to a chair, collect a piece of rainbow, put it in their wagon and then run it back to their team. As each child took their time to go, the other children had to build the picture of the rainbow. Pass the Parcel - We couldn't not but we broke with tradition and hid little presents all throughout so it wasn't all about that last person to open. We did this quite cheaply by buying a my little pony craft box and splitting up the items into little gift bundles. Unicorn Pinata - A massive favourite with this age range. I sooo wanted to try out one of those balloon popping piñatas but as we didn't want to spook the pony we decided to go for the traditional one.

Anna from Cambridge Shetland Ponies was amazing. She was so natural and kind with the children and was accommodating with our request for the pony to wear a unicorn horn and helped us out with our big reveal moment. Thank you so much Anna!
