Party Recap

Unicorn party themes have been so popular this year and the unicorn craze seems to be here to stay. We have recently styled Laura’s 8th birthday with a Unicorn Party full of sweet details. It was such a fun theme to work on!

A little trick for a party backdrop on a budget is to find a roll of wrapping paper that compliments the colour scheme and use it as a base for the decorations behind the table. We used this simple striped turquoise pattern and attached it to the wall with tape. Then we hung the banner and pom-poms on top and arranged the dessert table in front.

Using printable party decor is another great way of staying in budget while adding a unique look to your party. We used our purple unicorn party range and the turquoise colour in the backdrop really made it pop!

The focus of the dessert table was the cake – a delicious pink ombre cake covered in vanilla buttercream frosting and adorned with a printable set of unicorn and rainbow cake toppers. Such an easy way to make an otherwise simple cake stand out! Around the cake we had cute marshmallows pops, ‘unicorn poop’ (neapolitan flavour M&Ms), ‘mystical’ cupcakes and ‘unicorn horns’ (twisted marshmallows).

There was also ‘magical juice’ to wash out all the sweets and ‘magical chocolate’ to take home, along with a DIY unicorn headband kit in the goodie bags for the guests. I love the fresh colour scheme and the simplicity of this unicorn party set up!
