Party Recap

It was so much fun planning a baby shower for our very own event planner, Grace. We celebrated the arrival of baby Belle at the comfort of her own home with her closest family and friends.
This year’s Chinese Zodiac animal, the horse, inspired the decor for the baby shower. We decided to top it off with something a little more exciting by adding a sparkly horn and ta-da, a unicorn! The horse is handmade from paper mache and silver holographic paper formed the horn. The white unicorn was surrounded by delicate tissue paper and crepe paper flowers in bright pink, blue, and peach. With the help of plenty of hot glue and a handy boyfriend, the happy and joyful dessert table backdrop was created!

Tricia from Cakes by Tricia Faye designed and baked an amazing two-tier cake for the event. She even made sure to mold a gold unicorn topper out of fondant. The cake was moist and perfectly sweet in Grace’s favorite flavor - lemon flavored with raspberry filling.

The dessert table consisted of everything we dreamt a unicorn would eat. Our dear friend, Melinda, provided rainbow sprinkle-dipped sugar cookies and frosted puppy chow. We added a mini powdered donuts, a mountain of oversized marshmallows and and a colorful selection of cakes to match the unicorn theme.

The remaining decor elements include 40 matching tissue paper fans to deck out a section of their wall. These hand-folded beauties became the perfect background during our baby shower games. At the entranceway, we installed a fluffy polyester cloud with strings of falling pink raindrops to welcome guests to the “shower.”

Photo ops were made brighter with Oh Shiny! Paper Co’s “it’s a girl” balloon banner with coordinating tassel garland. These festive additions to our photo backdrop made group photos more fun and memorable. Their heart-shaped confetti balloons floated around the floor for an extra pop of pretty.

This intimate baby shower was perfectly captured by our good friends and professional wedding photographers, Sharon and Wen of Cotton Love Studios.
