All aboard the birthday train!! My little 3 year old engineer is obsessed with trains and of course a huge fan of “Thomas and Friends” so this year’s birthday theme was a given. I always try to create fun dessert tables that show the child’s personality and showcase the characters they love so much. My son loves his toy trains so I decided to bring the train table to the cake table. I set up a wooden train on top of a grass mat around the entire table and included a couple of his favorite trains, including the perfectly themed Thomas birthday train. I then placed train themed snacks and treats between the tracks.
Treats included Railroad Sign oreo cookies, Cloud puffs (marshmallows), train snacks (trail mix), Coal (brownies), cupcakes, train lollipops, popcorn, and Thomas themed rice crispy treats. And of course we can’t forget a cake! Ani from GemaSweets created the most darling Thomas and Friends cake. To complete the look, I created a sky like backdrop with clouds and a poster cutout of Thomas and his friends. For finishing touches, I also added props around the table such as suitcases and a lantern. Details such as banners, signs, labels, and tags around the party always help bring everything together and a must at every one of my parties.
The birthday boy was beyond thrilled with his party. He also loooooved to roll the trains all around. I am surprised everything survived and nothing broke in the process lol.

The personalized name cloud and triangle flags were created by me. You can contact me at [email protected] if interested in any of my items. The actual character cutout can be found at regular retail party stores.
