Star Wars Birthday

My little one has never seen Star Wars, but you wouldn't know it by his love and vast knowledge of each of the characters. However, one character has always been his favorite - the Stormtrooper. So when we were discussing the theme for his 4th birthday, he said Star Wars!! But quickly did I realized he meant Stormtrooper!! :) And you can't have a Stormtrooper without a little Darth Vader.

To set the tone, I designed a monochromatic invitation that went out to each of his friends. I carried that little Stormtrooper image throughout the rest of the party. My little guy even wanted to wear his Stormtrooper costume from Halloween - it was perfect! However, he eventually ditched it when it became too hot, so underneath was a custom made birthday shirt.

Guests walked in to find an intergalatic monochromatic backdrop complete with a balloon garland, glittery banner and a 20x30 foam Stormtrooper. I always use the cake/cupcake tower as the centerpiece for the buffet table and place the rest of the snacks around it. This one had a serious WOW factor!

At each place setting, I used cardstock to create placemats and layered black and white plates to give each setting some depth. Each setting not only had a matching straw topper, but also a matching mask. It was so fun to see the kids in them!

Each table had a set of three centerpieces - two tie fighter honeycomb balls and you guessed it - one Stormtrooper. I had this vision for the tie fighters and was so happy with how they turned out!

It was an early morning party, so I had fruit cups, mini bagels, muffins and mini donuts for the kids to snack on. Then of course, we all dove into the dessert!

At the end, each kid took home their Star Wars mask and received a matching Pez as their party favor!

The fours...er, I mean force was with us always that day. :)
