Party Recap

"Looking for that pot of gold'?
You're in 'luck'...we found it!
Join us for an evening above the city..."

So began the invitation to the 'St. Patty's Pretty' Dinner Party! Our guests were so surprised when they got off the elevator on the 16th floor, and given either a green 'bowler' hat, or green sparkling tiara, and then had the choice of an Irish beer or the signature cocktail, 'Liquid Gold'! The cocktail hour was held in the lobby off the elevator, while guests enjoyed the music of bagpipes, and munched on Irish cheeses, crackers, fruits and nuts.
With guests in suspense, it was time for dinner! They were escorted to a hallway that opened up into two private empty offices, overlooking downtown, that had been creatively turned into 'dining' and 'serving' rooms! Washed in gold, the dining room was dressed in gold from the chargers to the chair ties. The serving room was in all green, and both rooms had spotlights that bathed the rooms in their respective colors. No other lighting was used, except for candles and twinkle lights. It truly was spectacular!
The fun menu featured "Not Your Mother's Corned Beef" Brisket, "That's No Blarney "Twice-Baked Potato Casserole, "Wearin' of the Green" Beans, and salad.
Topping it all off was "Over the Rainbow" sherbet with a hand-stenciled shamrock cookie, Key Lime Bars, and Mini Cream Cheese Cupcakes sprinkled with gold sugar. Of course, we couldn't have dessert without Bailey's Irish Cream and coffee!
This was one event that was as much fun for me to create as it was for the guests to enjoy! I'll definitely do it again!
