Party Recap

After the millionth time in a row on It's a Small World at Disneyland last year, it occurred to me that this would be a fun theme since it is the girls' favorite ride. Sophie turned 6 and Claire turned 4. I made a CD mix of small world/travel themed songs -- everything from the actual ride to Down Under by Men at Work. There were 7 activities or crafts -- one for each continent: American Flag treat for North America, color maracas for South America, Madeline cookie for Europe, Lantern for Asia, safari animal puppet for Africa, kangaroo races for Australia, and making snow for Antarctica. Each kid got a passport and received a stamp for each completed activity. Instead of renting a $400 photo booth, I bought an instant camera and bought round the world props and made my own photo booth for their passport photos. I made mini meals for the kids in Chinese food to go boxes that included a fortune cookie and airplane shaped sandwiches. The kids had a blast! I forgot to mention that the "luggage tags" are bookmarks from Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/90916110/around-the-world-national-costume

No, I didn't use a template - I just based it off of 1 inch squares and played around with the design.
