Party Recap

What better way for a ninja to relax than with an afternoon tea party!? We found the perfect setting, added in many activities that could be done sitting at a table and a few low-key activities that had the kids up and moving, topped it off with wonderful food, and shared it all with friends and family.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

For the adults: soup, salad, scones, tea sandwiches, and sweets, and endless pots of tea. For the younger ninja: they all chose tea (but could've had milk or lemonade), scone, creamy mac & cheese, peanut butter sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich, and mini desserts.

  • What People Drank

    Tea! (Of course :) )

  • Desserts

There were a variety of desserts provided with our tea service.

  • Party Favors

Our guests each received a silk bag that contained a Ninjago cookie, a felt fortune cookie stuffed with a quote from Ninjago, and personalized chopsticks. The children were given personalized ninja headbands to wear during the party (or they could choose to wear a fancy tea party hat provided by the venue). The children also each received (and adults if they wanted them) two Ninjago minifigures.

  • Activities / Games

I knew that with the party happening in a fancy tea house, we'd need mostly activities that could be done sitting at the table (no getting up and acting crazy and breaking the good china!) So that's mostly what we focused on. At the tables, there were Ninjago minifigures that the children were able to take home later as favors. There were also small buckets of Legos and baseplates for everyone to build with. All guests received a "Find Your Ninja Name" paper, to which we added a "Hello, My Name Is" sticker that had been decorated with Ninjago eyes. Everyone had a great time figuring out their ninja name and wore their name tags during the party. We also included a special message/puzzle from the birthday girl for guests to figure out. The message was written in the official Ninjago alphabet font! Finally, we printed the official Ninjago activity booklet from the movie website and gave it to the children as an activity that they could either work on at the party or take home and work on it later. For games, the children enjoyed playing a throwing star toss game as well as pin the beard on Master Wu.
