Party Recap

The Game was Afoot the night I threw my husband a surprise Sherlock Holmes Murder Mystery Party! Over a four course dinner, we played the scripted 4 Acts of the game which left a lot of room for wild banter between Acts. The guests had various degrees of familiarity with Sherlock Holmes - some read the original stories and others only saw the modern BBC remake. But we all had a blast! I served soup, salad and Roasted lamb with mint sauce, followed by a birthday cake decorated with a Sherlock pipe. We served Moriar-TEA in English tea cups, which was "to die for!" I printed an old map of London and laced red yard through push pins indicating crime scenes from Sherlock stories. We decorated the house with skulls, magnifying glasses, violins and an old typewriter. The guests won awards for best costume, best acting and for guessing the murderer. It was the most hilarious party we have ever thrown!
