Party Recap

Sami picked the theme for his 9th birthday party: Game On! His mom hired the video game truck from Rolling Games Mania, ordered the cake from Fancy Cakes By Leslie, and then decided to bring in Bellwether Events to manage the remainder of the details - with less than 2 weeks to go! Fig. 2 was brought on to create all the custom paper goods. DC Rental was hired to contribute a rainbow of colorful chairs and linens. The front door was set with a welcoming sign. The foyer of their home was decorated with yellow flowers. As well, the candy bar, with striped candy bags and custom closure stickers, was set up in this room. The table was set with a navy denim-like linen, navy chairs with rainbow cushions, vintage video game themed plate mats, Pokemon plates, a DIY Pikachu Peep on a curly straw, water bottles with custom labels, a party blower, utensils wrapped with a Minecraft napkin ring, and a Pokeball filled with small Pokemon party favors. Paper fans were used to create the visual of a table runner with the amazing two-tiered cake as the centerpiece.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

In the dining room we set up snacks for the parents who stayed for the party - cheese, fruit, spreads and crudites, while the kids played. For the lunch buffet, Occasions served favorites like sliders, mini chicken sandwiches, fruit salad, and french fries.

  • What People Drank

The dining room also was home to the drinks station, featuring water bottles with custom wraps, red, blue and yellow cups and straws, and gold foil Happy Birthday napkins.

  • Party Favors

We let them pick their own favor bag, and made sure they also got their candy bag, Pokeball and Pikachu balloon.

  • Activities / Games

The kids started the party in the video game truck. After a couple hours playing sports games, Minecraft and Pokemon, the kiddos took a break for lunch. After lunch we went to the basement. In the basement, we used vinyl decals to decorate the stairwell and walls, set up the photo booth and scrap book with custom bunting and Pokemon masks, and had a mini dance party followed by a screening of Middle School (the movie) after lunch.
