Party Recap

As summertime comes to an end, our church has an annual church camp out at a local state park! In order to get decent camp sites, families made reservations months in advance! My parents, siblings and their families also came along, making the trip a fun family event as well! Since my daughter Kalani was turning 3 this weekend, I thought having a camping birthday party would be a fun idea!

As evening approached, I set up a picnic table with a S’more bar, a tackle box full of candy Gummy Worms, Swedish Fish and Starbursts, S’more trail mix and green “swamp water” punch. Along with the food I provided, other campers also pitched in food items such as chocolate, bars and Lit’l Smokies! Everyone enjoyed time together around the campfire roasting marshmallows, chatting and eating tasty treats.

When the sun went down, everyone from young children to adults found creative ways to use glow sticks and glow necklaces that one of our campers had provided! Needless to say, we had an eventful night filled with laughter! We enjoyed jumping glow rope, playing glow volleyball, using glow sticks as hats and making balls.

Rustic accents included wood from an old birch tree, a plaid picnic style table-cloth, a wool plaid blanket and a unique red picnic basket! Items I found in our camp gear such as a coffee pot and cups also added a nice touch to the party decorations. We also found pine cones on the ground to add extra woodsy accents.

Overall, our camping party was a huge success! First of all, I want to thank my husband for helping set up the party and taking the sweet glow stick picture! Also, a huge thanks to fellow campers for providing delicious treats! As a result, my daughter felt pretty happy that so many people showed up to celebrate her special day!
