Party Recap
We nicknamed our third baby "the Queen" because of the way she commands the room, even with her two siblings running wild around her (catch us on IG @christiwitt for more on that craziness). Those eyebrows could stop an army I am telling you! So a "Queen Bee" themed party seemed to be the perfect fit for her! Not to mention an easy way to suck up to my father in law who is a beekeeper himself. As always, I jumped online to gather some inspiration. I loved the more classic, bee themed parties and decided to go that route. Invitations by ChiccDesigns on Etsy was my first purchase. Then of course the cake! I contacted a local bakery and they made the beautiful buttercream beehive cake. It was perfection. I tried to keep things simple as I had limited space to work wth and only a few party guests, so I decorated one main table with some odds and ends from Target, Party City and Hobby Lobby. I decided to keep my food simple as well and did made to order grilled cheese and Panera tomato soup. I have a tradition of making my girls' birthday party outfits so I snatched up this adorable fabric from Spoonflower and ended up having enough leftover to make pieces for my other two children to match as well. With a little help from Pinterest and allrecipes.com I faked my way through some sugar cookies and French macarons. I snatched up some "honey" themed items from World Market for the gift bags (all for adult family members) and called it s day! It was perfectly simple and cute. A perfect party for the little Queen Bee.
