Jewel-toned Peacock Bridal Shower Lounge

I love a new venue in an old space. Haines on Main is just that spot -- a beautiful historic home located in the heart of St Charles, Illinois embarking a new life as an event venue. Haines on Main is the passion project of Julie Starck, who owns the vintage rentals company "Erasistable Vintage Rentals". When you rent her new space, you also have access to a treasure-trove of goodies from glassware to pillows, furniture to rugs - Haines on Main has you covered - quite literally!

To showcase some of these fabulous finds, we designed a jewel-toned, peacock-inspired bridal shower lounge space in the front room of the venue. When you enter, you are first greeted with a fabulous mural along the staircase but then your eyes move across the room to beautiful furniture, a player piano, lovely linens, colorful glassware and decadent floral touches.

Rifle Paper Company fabric was used to make a table runner and banner for this lounge space, and their peacock pattern served as inspiration for the overall color palette and design of everything we did.

A panel backdrop, perfect for posing with guests or opening gifts in front of, was another key focal point in the room. Layers of fabric, a fun yellow vintage chair, jute rug and boho macramé banner made this area really pop.

Textural flowers, peacock feathers and candles were scattered throughout and brought a lot of color and ambiance to the space.

Charcuterie was expertly assembled in vintage glassware, the perfect hand-held snack for guests. A bar, decked out in a variety of beverages and vintage glassware and peacock cocktail napkins was also available for consumption.

The overall look and feel of this shower was an eclectic, lounge-y vibe. It was intimate -- with less than 20 guests -- so this party focused on togetherness and was much less structured than most bridal showers. No games were played and "activities" included eating, drinking, chatting and watching the bride-to-be open gifts. It was exactly the right kind of shower for a bride who doesn't want all of the tradition and restrictions of a typical bridal shower. Just a chill lounge area with eating, drinking and celebrating together. We were totally here for it and we cannot wait to do more events in this special space!
