Party Recap

(Texto en español en http://wp.me/p5pjQ3-bx )

This is my first party as a pro, and it has been such a fun job.

For Valentina's baptism I choose a bright palette on pink and turquoise. Inspiration came on those little things that make children smile like candy, pinwheels and butterflies.

I set up a little candy bar with a pinwheel bouquet (used also as thank you gift for attending children) and a butterflies backdrop. Along with the candy bar there was a mailbox, personalized cards and pens for the guests to leave a message with their wishes for the newborn. She can read them when she grows up and share the party somehow.

I crafted lots of pinwheels for chair decoration and table numbers too. All handmade with different patterns in pink and turquoise.

Romantic flower centerpieces were designed by Merci Bouquet, a talented florist. I think natural flowers are a must in every party but when you are celebrating a new life they are essential.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Typical local food from Canary Islands since the party was thrown at a well known Canarian restaurant. Appetizers, cured ham, "papas arrugas wit mojo", "ropavieja" and wreck fish

  • What People Drank

    Rioja wine mostly.

  • Desserts

"Granma's dessert" is a sweet combination of white cake, dulce de leche, whipped cream and hard meringue crumbs. Pure heaven.

  • Party Favors

Pinwheels and candy filled jars for children and magnets for adults.
