Cade Henry’s Second Birthday – Penguins, PJs and Popsicles!

Overview: As an Event Planner in the Atlanta suburbs, Hastings Malone of Southern Charm Communications wanted to come up with the fun and festive theme for her son, Cade Henry’s, second birthday in February. What better way to celebrate winter (and be super comfy!) than a Penguins, PJ’s and Popsicles Party?

Everyone came dressed in their bedtime finest ready for fun. We kept the food simple and slumber party appropriate with pizza, fruit, goldfish, popcorn and tons of yummy treats!

Event highlights:

¥ Themed penguin food labels: Chillin’ Cheese Pizza, PaJAMin’ Pepperoni Pizza, POP It Like It’s Hot Popcorn, Fish Food (goldfish) and Polar Bear-ies (Blueberries and Strawberries)
¥ A stunning dessert table accented with paper lanterns and a “Penguins, PJ’s and Popsicles” banner included: Penguin Pops (penguin cake pops), Pop Pops (popsicle cake pops), Happy Feet cupcakes (cupcakes with slippers), Loungin’ Lollies (lollipops) and Ice Breakers (penguin mints)
¥ Our younger guests loved taking pictures in the penguin photo booth!
¥ There was a big surprise when our ice cream truck showed up to deliver extra treats to all of the guests!
¥ “I Love you to the Moon and Back” wreath with penguins on the front door
¥ An “Adult Playroom” with a full bar and a Specialty Cocktail (Polar Plunge Punch: Blueberry Vodka, Blue Curacao, Pineapple Juice, Lemon Juice and Water), also with lantern accents
¥ An indoor snowball fight which all of the kids (and adults) loved! It went on for over an hour.
¥ Penguin plates, cups and napkins plus pretty blue paper straws
¥ Blue candles throughout with glitter “snow” in mason jars
¥ Wind up penguin accents throughout and hanging penguin swirls from the ceiling
¥ Custom, hand-painted monogram initials of “CMH” above the mantel
¥ “Happy Birthday Cade” banner hanging from the mantel
¥ “I’m a Little Penguin” sign
¥ “C-A-D-E” handmade floating letters above the dining room table
¥ Custom Water Bottle labels in a drink cart with “CADE” lettering
¥ Children’s Games including a bounce house, ball pit and Pin the Candle on the Cupcake
¥ The movies “Penguins of Madagascar” and “Happy Feet” playing in the background
¥ Fresh popcorn from a vintage Nostalgia Electrics popcorn machine
¥ Party favors of stuffed penguins displayed in a wrapped Radio Flyer Wagon with an “Adopt a Penguin” chalkboard sign
